No, you are not too old to begin martial arts training. Kenpo regularly has students start from adolecense through their 50’s and older. Kenpo is a practical and effective martial art that does not incorporate gymnastics.

Hapkido is a Korean Martial Art that focuses primarily on self-defense techniques, and is a practical self defense system which trains the student for modern day self defense encounters. Hapkido specializes in joint manipulations and throwing, and have a powerful arsenal of striking and kicking techniques.

Other martial arts will focus on sport, health, or even fighting. Hapkido believes there is a difference between fighting and self-defense, soi we do not compete in competition or any tournaments.

The two 1 hour classes a week are recommended, as is practicing at home. As you progress through the ranks if you want more 1:1 attention we offer 30 to 60 minute private lessons which can further help hone your skills.
